Create a Wi-Fi QR Code for Guests
A Wi-Fi QR stores network connection details directly in the pattern. A compatible phone can read the network name and password without someone typing them. This is a static code, not an editable platform link.
Enter the correct network details
Choose Wi-Fi in QR Studio. Enter the network name exactly, including capitalization and spaces. Select the matching security type and enter the password when required. Do not use a web sign-in password in the Wi-Fi password field.
Use a guest network when appropriate
Anyone with the printed code or image can read the embedded network details. Place it where intended guests can access it and use a separate guest network if your router supports one. A QR code does not restrict access or encrypt the password for the viewer.
Test before displaying the code
Export PNG for a screen or SVG for print. Test with a phone that has not already joined the network. Confirm the correct network is selected and that internet access works. Some devices or captive portal networks may need an additional sign-in step.
Replace the QR when credentials change
Changing the network name or password does not update a static printed code. Generate a replacement and remove old copies. The Wi-Fi QR does not need this platform to host a destination page, but the network still needs to be available.
